Shokoufeh Shojaei, the arm wrestling champion, withdrew from national and international competitions.

Shokoufeh Shojaei, the arm wrestling champion and gold medalist of Iran, announced in an Instagram post that she is withdrawing from competitions and will no longer wear the national team jersey.

In this message, published on February 6th, she wrote that due to recent events and the heavy sorrow of my compatriots, I will no longer wear the national team jersey and will not participate in any national or international arm wrestling competitions.

Shojaei emphasized that despite having been on the national team four times, she no longer has the mental strength for sports and competition.

Shokoufeh Shojaei is from Bojnord and is a specialist in body movement correction.

Following the events of December 2025, a number of Iranian athletes and artists have also announced their cessation of professional activities or withdrawal from competitions and festivals.
