South Korean sources say North Korea is capable of building 47 new nuclear bombs
South Korean intelligence sources claim that North Korea has produced up to two tons of highly enriched uranium, which is enough to build at least 47 nuclear bombs
Pyongyang currently has about 50 nuclear warheads, and if it builds more bombs, it will surpass Israel, which has around 90 warheads, in terms of numbers
The produced uranium, enriched to over 90%, is considered weapons-grade
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, about 42 kilograms of enriched uranium is needed to build one nuclear bomb
Kim Jong-un has promised to accelerate the nuclear program and produce 15 to 20 new weapons annually
The Telegraph report states that the US recently bombed several Iranian nuclear sites, which were reportedly built with North Korean assistance, and this has strengthened Pyongyang’s resolve to bolster its nuclear deterrence
North Korea is also testing long-range ballistic missiles that can target the US mainland
Reports indicate the construction of a secret missile base near the Chinese border and ongoing activities at the Yongbyon nuclear facility
