The Pentagon spokesperson stated that the United States is not seeking confrontation with Iran.
General Patrick Ryder, the spokesperson for the Department of Defense, addressed reporters in Washington on Tuesday, saying, ‘We do not want to be part of a broader regional conflict. We are not seeking confrontation with Iran.’
The Pentagon spokesperson also mentioned that Iran has not provided any specific information to the United States regarding the timing or details of an attack on Israel.
Ryder, without indicating whether the United States has been informed by its allies about Iran’s plans, told reporters at the Pentagon, ‘I think what you want to know is whether Iran informed us or not. They did not.’
General Ryder claimed that Israel’s use of force in response to legitimate military operations and Iran’s threats, despite Washington’s support for Israel and its alignment with the U.S. government, is Israel’s decision whether to retaliate against Iran or not.
The Pentagon spokesperson reassured Tel Aviv officials, saying, ‘We remain focused on defending Israel and protecting U.S. forces in the region, but we are not seeking confrontation with Iran.’
The spokesperson for the US Department of Defense also mentioned that the fighter jet squadrons of the US Army, which had been transferred to the Middle East before Iran’s attack on Israel, are still stationed in the region to participate in possible future missions.
