Hadi Tahan Nazif, the spokesperson of the Guardian Council, explained the process of evaluating the qualifications of presidential election candidates, saying that the files of every 80 registrants were examined, and all the backgrounds of these individuals were reviewed.
He mentioned that some files are clear and decisions can be made quickly about them. However, some files require more time for evaluation, leading to some files being reviewed more than once during the qualification review sessions for the recent presidential election candidates.
The spokesperson of the Guardian Council continued by stating that after reviewing the files, ultimately a vote is taken. This voting process is completely confidential according to the council’s procedure.
