Spokesperson of the Judiciary: Six missing carpets from Saadabad Palace are in buildings and government institutions

The spokesperson of the judiciary announced that six missing carpets from Saadabad Palace are located in government buildings and institutions.

According to the spokesperson of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, six out of 48 missing carpets from Saadabad Palace have been identified, and it is said that these carpets are in government buildings and institutions.

The stolen carpets, valued at 127 billion tomans, were taken out a few years ago from the Hafizieh building in Saadabad Palace and moved to an unknown location. Last year, Fars News Agency reported that these carpets were removed from this location in 1395 (Persian calendar, corresponding to 2016-2017) during the presidency of Hassan Rouhani. An official from Rouhani’s government denied this claim and attributed the theft of these carpets to the presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
