Strict Control Order on Hijab in Public Places
Based on a picture that has been circulated on social media, the Deputy Office for Supervision of Public Places in Greater Tehran has sent a new directive to the Tehran Guild Chamber, calling for intensified monitoring and control of commercial establishments in implementing the Hijab and modesty plan.
This directive requests that establishments with the highest level of violations regarding the Hijab be identified for legal action.
Opposition to compulsory Hijab has intensified following the death of Mahsa Amini during a clash with the morality police, leading many girls and women in Iran to remove their headscarves.
