Summer 1403 with Insects and Infectious Diseases

Summer of 2024 with insects and contagious diseases

Record-breaking heatwaves were observed globally, with historic heat in various cities in the United States and Iran.

Days when the heat in different cities broke historical records, the data on temperature records is excluded from counting. In fact, some cities in the southern and even northern United States broke their heat records to an extent where this phenomenon has become normal.

In this unprecedented heat, caused mainly by climate change, the spread of dangerous and strange insects and disease carriers poses a serious threat. With recent announcements from US health authorities, the situation must be considered urgent. West Nile fever has now paralyzed a teenager in Missouri, and interestingly, this disease had Dr. Fauci, a well-known figure, bedridden a week ago.

Dengue fever has also become a serious concern, with US health authorities sounding the alarm.

A particular mosquito that transmits dengue fever also carries two other dangerous diseases, and its sting poses a risk of human infection.

In addition to the cases we mentioned, the death of an American in New Hampshire due to the dangerous disease Eastern equine encephalitis has added to concerns. The current conditions of contagious diseases with increasing COVID cases in the US and the unprecedented spread of monkeypox have put a strain on medical centers in the US and worldwide.

Given the concerns about the spread of these diseases in Iran, and especially considering global concerns about new mutations of the coronavirus, extensive collaboration between medical centers in Iran and those in Europe and the US is vital.
