Summoning of an expelled music student from Tehran University of Art to the court

Khashayar Safidi, a master’s student in music who was expelled from Tehran University of Art, announced his summons to the third branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in District 33 of Tehran by sharing a photo of the notice on his Instagram page.

According to this notice, the expelled student is required to appear on May 3rd at the third branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in District 33 of Tehran to defend himself against the charges attributed to him in this branch.

Mr. Safidi, along with sharing this image, wrote a couplet from Hafez: ‘Endure the beloved’s harshness lovingly, for a single gesture can make up for a hundred injustices.’

Previously, he was expelled from the university after a performance with the Setar in memory of Armita Geravand and Kian Pirfalak. On Saturday, February 7, 2024, he staged a sit-in in front of the House of Music of Iran holding leaves with ‘No to execution’ written on them.
