Sweden: Iran likely involved in explosions against Israeli embassy

The Swedish security service says it is possible that Iran played a role in the attacks this week near the Israeli embassies in Copenhagen and Stockholm.

These two separate attacks that occurred on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning near the Israeli embassies in Sweden and Denmark have drawn attention due to their timing with Iran’s attacks on Israel and the rising tensions in the Middle East.

Fredrik Hallström, the operations director of the Swedish security service, responded to journalists’ questions about Iran’s possible role in the Stockholm and Copenhagen attacks by saying there are things that suggest this possibility, including the type of targets and methods used, but it is more of a hypothesis than knowledge and information.

A few months ago, the Swedish security service also accused the Iranian government of hiring members of criminal groups to carry out violent actions against Israel, an accusation that Iran denies.
