The Taiwan Dispute Behind China’s Wall

The Taiwan dispute behind China’s wall, according to Iran Gate, Taiwan must be reattached to Chinese soil and will be. Beijing claimed that Taiwan must be annexed and there is no escaping this. Any attempt to prevent this process is doomed to fail, and China will take effective measures to resolutely defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This comment was made by Wang Wenbin, the spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in reaction to the stopover of William Lai, the Vice President of Taiwan, in the United States and in New York on his way to Paraguay. He further added that the dual transit severely violated the One China principle and harmed China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and also sent a strong signal to separatist forces.

China strongly opposes any visits by Taiwanese independence-seeking separatists to the United States and firmly rejects any official interaction between Washington and the rebellious island. With William Lai’s entry into New York as part of his official trip to Paraguay, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced and assured that Beijing is closely monitoring developments and the situation and will take decisive and severe actions to maintain its sovereignty and integrity and will deal firmly.

Wang in this daily briefing reminded that the One China principle is a general consensus of the international community and one of the fundamental norms of international relations, and also the premise and foundation for establishing and developing diplomatic relations between China and the United States. William Lai, as the leader of the Taiwan region, has introduced himself as a pragmatic worker for independence.

His words and actions during his visit to the United States once again proved that he is a true separatist. Meanwhile, it appeared that the American side was also insisting on allowing Lai to participate in political activities and promote separatist ideas, resulting in strengthening official exchanges and fundamental relations between the United States and Taiwan.

State media and the People’s Liberation Army often broadcast materials and propaganda programs and videos related to military exercises to promote the modernization of the army. These contribute to the growing nationalism in China and demonstrate military security against Taiwan and implicitly its relations with the United States. Although the United States has always emphasized that it does not recognize Taiwan as an independent country, it has also promised to help the island defend itself in the event of any military invasion.

China claims that Taipei, which has declared itself a democratic autonomous government, is an inseparable part of its territory, which it will annex to mainland China by force if necessary. Beijing considers Taiwan the center of China’s fundamental interests, the political foundation of Beijing-Washington relations, and the first non-negotiable red line between China and the United States. Finally, Wang concluded that Taiwan’s independence is incompatible with peace and stability in the strait, emphasizing that it is a dead-end road.
