Tajzadeh: This Massacre Was a Wholesale Slaughter of People

Tajzadeh called this massacre a mass slaughter of people

Mostafa Tajzadeh, a political activist and former deputy minister of the interior in Mohammad Khatami’s government, described the unprecedented killing of protesters in December in Iran as a mass slaughter of people that was both predictable and preventable.

Mr. Tajzadeh wrote from Evin Prison, lamenting that this unprecedented massacre since the Constitutional Revolution was both predictable and preventable, if only the Supreme Leader had listened, refrained from monopolizing power and authoritarianism, recognized the people’s demands, respected the majority’s vote and opinion, or resigned and stepped down.

Mr. Tajzadeh added that he has no doubt that the official statistics and narrative of what happened this December are a blatant lie, and only with the formation of an independent and national truth-finding committee will the true dimensions of this crime be revealed.
