The Taliban banned the installation of windows overlooking women’s areas

The Taliban Islamists in Afghanistan issued a decree banning the installation of windows overlooking areas used by women in residential houses.

According to this order, new buildings should not have windows that overlook the yard, kitchen, neighbor’s well, or other places usually used by women.

This decree was issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, announced this decree, stating that seeing women working in the kitchen, yard, or fetching water from the well could lead to immoral acts. Therefore, local authorities and other relevant institutions have been asked to supervise construction sites and ensure that there is no visibility into neighboring houses.

According to the new guidelines, owners of old houses are encouraged to block areas used by women in the home by building walls.
