The Taliban does not recognize the Afghan women’s Olympic team athletes.

The Taliban government says it does not recognize the three Afghan women athletes participating in the Paris Olympics.

Athlete spokesman for the Taliban’s Ministry of Physical Education told the French news agency that only three male athletes from Afghanistan are representing.

Currently, girls’ sports have been stopped. When girls are not participating in sports, how can they be on the national team?

Last month, the International Olympic Committee announced that no representatives from the Taliban government would be present at the Paris Olympics, and a six-member team consisting of three women and three men has been invited to participate in exile with the cooperation of the Afghan Olympic Committee.

Younes Popalzai, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee in exile, told Radio Azadi that Kimia Yousufi in Taekwondo, Farzad Mahimi in Judo, and Shah Mahmoud Noorzi in Taekwondo and Mohammad Samim Farzad in Judo will represent Afghanistan at the 2024 Olympics.
