The Taliban’s Head of Information and Culture: The decree banning intermarriage between Shia and Sunni is fake

Muizzuddin Ahmadi, the Taliban’s Head of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, stated in a video that this decree is fake and has been initiated by the country’s enemies. We strongly condemn and deny it.

This Taliban official described the published news as propaganda and emphasized that no one can drive the people of this district, where followers of different sects live, towards religious prejudices.

Recently, a document was circulated on social media claiming that a local Taliban official in the Nasi district of Badakhshan has declared a ban on giving Sunni girls to Shia men.
