Tavanir power outages will continue in the summer

The CEO of Tavanir Company announced in an interview with IRIB News on Friday, July 3, that power outages in Tehran and other major cities of Iran will continue throughout the summer.

Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi said although we are trying to reduce the blackouts, the demand for electricity consumption exceeds the production capacity.

The CEO of Tavanir also claimed that during the 12-day war, due to consumption management and business closures, electricity consumption decreased by 16%, and therefore, residential areas were not cut off.

Meanwhile, Abbas Aliabadi, the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic, previously emphasized that a large portion of the country’s electricity is used for illegal cryptocurrency mining, saying that on the days when the internet was cut off in Iran, global Bitcoin production decreased by about five percent.
