Doll Rain to Help Earthquake Victims at Besiktas Game

Fans of Turkey’s Besiktas club threw thousands of stuffed dolls onto the field during the team’s latest match in the Turkish Super League on Sunday night to aid survivors of the country’s deadly earthquake.

Besiktas fans, during their team’s match against Antalyaspor in Istanbul last night, began throwing dolls onto the field at the 4:17 mark of the game, which commemorates the time of the earthquake’s occurrence on the morning of February 6.

Players from both teams collected the dolls by the side of the football field and thanked the fans. The dolls are to be sent to children who survived the earthquake.

According to the latest announced statistics, more than 47,000 people have died as a result of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
