Tehran Water and Wastewater Company: Reservoirs’ storage has decreased to 26 percent

Behnam Bakhshi, spokesperson for the Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company, announced that the storage levels of Tehran’s five reservoirs, which were around 30 percent at the beginning of summer, have now dropped to about 26 percent.

According to him, the volume of Tehran’s reservoir storage is approximately 220 million cubic meters less than the ideal conditions.

Bakhshi, referring to the sixth year of drought in Tehran, said that about 280 millimeters of rainfall is needed to reach optimal conditions, while this year’s rainfall has not yet reached 175 millimeters.

He also announced that the per capita water consumption in Tehran has decreased from 250 liters in the year 1402 to about 180 liters.
