Tehran Emergency Services Faces Shortage of 1400 Human Resources

Tehran Emergency Services are facing a shortage of 1400 staff.

Mohammad Esmaeil Torkan, the head of Tehran Province Emergency Services, announced a shortage of 1400 staff in his department due to budget cuts.

According to ILNA, Torkan stated that due to the inflation rate we are facing, almost equal to last year, we are dealing with a budget deficit.

The head of Tehran Province Emergency Services highlighted that this budget deficit is affecting the procurement of ambulance spare parts, medical supplies, and even the salaries and benefits of personnel.

Torkan also reported an 80% fatigue rate in the Tehran emergency fleet.

Jaafar Miadfar, the head of the National Emergency Organization, had previously reported fatigue in 3,000 ambulances nationwide.

The shortage of staff and fatigue in the Tehran emergency services come at a time when geologists have always warned of the possibility of an earthquake in Tehran. This is one of the risks that, if it occurs, will require Tehran residents to have abundant manpower and equipment in emergency services.
