The Battle Between Mokhber and Raisi in the Government

According to an exclusive report by Iran Gate, the crisis of rising currency prices became a valuable opportunity for the First Vice President. Given his closeness to prominent members of the Leader’s office, such as Seyed Asghar Hejazi, an order was issued by the Leader of the Islamic Republic to make changes and economic adjustments to the cabinet.

This mission was entrusted to Mokhber after a ceremonial consultation with Raisi. Today, the first reshuffle in the cabinet took place to fulfill this mission. Saleh Abadi bid farewell to the glass building of Mirdamad, and his seat was taken by Mohammad Reza Farzin.

Mohammad Reza Farzin, who is close to Mokhber, was one of his economic men on the boards of the financial companies of the Executive Headquarters and was notably the CEO of Karafarin Bank, which belongs to the Executive Headquarters, during the time when Mokhber was still present at the Executive Headquarters of Imam’s Order.

At the beginning of the government, Mokhber made significant efforts to position Farzin in one of the two important roles of Minister of Economy or the Governor of the Central Bank, but he did not succeed and sent Farzin to Bank Melli. Using Hemmati’s model, the former Governor of the Central Bank, the CEO position at Bank Melli, the largest state-owned bank, became Farzin’s launchpad, which it did.

However, it seems this is not the end of the battle, and it is likely that Mokhber and Farzin, in the coming days, can impose the correctness of the decision and the necessity of continuing the economic cabinet reshuffle on the President by measures such as injecting currency and controlling the market. They may take the next step towards seizing the Ministry of Economy with stronger backing and support from the Leader’s office than before.

Given the deep disagreement between Mokhber and Khandoozi, it is not far-fetched that soon another important economic seat in the government will be awarded to Mokhber’s team. This power struggle will certainly and undoubtedly make the already difficult living conditions even harder for the people.

It seems that the Imam Sadeq faction has lost the game to Mokhber in the power struggle over economic seats. Raisi quickly showed that if he does not have unconventional support and assistance like in the elections, he does not possess notable managerial capabilities, and now he faces even tougher days ahead.
