The Chief of the Judiciary says many Iranians living abroad are willing to return.

The Chief of the Judiciary in Iran states that many Iranians living abroad are willing to return, but they lack trust. Mechanisms need to be put in place to establish mutual trust between the parties involved.

Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has mentioned this issue in a meeting with some officials from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was also present at this meeting.

Mr. Mohseni Ejei said that it may be possible to resolve some legal and judicial matters of Iranians living abroad in a way that they don’t need to come back to the country, thus creating confidence and trust in them for their return to their homeland.

These statements come at a time when the detention of dual nationals in Iran has significantly increased in recent years. Some Western governments claim that the Iranian government is using this method to resolve its foreign issues.
