The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts apologized for holding Tehran Design Week.

Hamed Mazaherian, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, apologized to the president of the University of Tehran for holding the Tehran Design Week event at this university.

This event had previously been halted due to the presence of women without mandatory hijabs.

On Sunday, November 22, Mazaherian stated that what was published on social media from Tehran Design Week was merely a small part of the behavior of a few non-university visitors that had no alignment with the overall event and the efforts of security to uphold the dignity of the university.

He said that the necessary warnings were given and preventive measures were taken in the early hours.

This cultural event, which was being held at the Faculty of Fine Arts, was halted despite widespread visitor attendance due to objections from the university’s student Basij.

Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, announced on November 16 that following the release of an inappropriate video and the issuance of a statement by the student Basij, this program was stopped.
