The death sentence of Mohammad Khezrnejad, a protesting cleric, was confirmed by the Supreme Court

The death sentence of Mohammad Khodaei Rohani, a protesting cleric, has been confirmed by the Supreme Court.

The Human Rights Network of Kurdistan says that the death sentence and 16 years of imprisonment for Mullah Mohammad Khodaei Rohani, a protesting cleric, have been confirmed by the Supreme Court.

The Revolutionary Court of Urmia sentenced this 45-year-old cleric in Azar last year after 14 months of detention on charges of spreading corruption on earth, undermining national security, and advocating against the system, to death and 16 years of imprisonment.

The Human Rights Network of Kurdistan announced today, Friday, 17 Khordad, that Branch 41 of the Supreme Court, led by Judge Ali Razini, has confirmed his death sentence and 16 years of imprisonment.

According to news sources, Mr. Khodaei was arrested on 28 Aban 1401 along with his son by security forces.
