The head of the Government Information Council announced a phone call with Kaveh Madani
Elias Hazrati, the head of the Government Information Council, announced on Thursday that he had a phone conversation with Kaveh Madani, the head of the Institute for Water, Environment, and Health at the United Nations University, two weeks ago. According to him, efforts to bring Madani back to Iran are ongoing.
Kaveh Madani previously served as the Deputy for International Affairs and Innovation at the Environmental Protection Organization, but in 2017, after criticizing the environmental policies of the Islamic Republic and following accusations of espionage, he left Iran.
He is now a well-known international figure in the field of water and environment.
This news comes at a time when the water crisis and widespread power outages in Iran have posed serious challenges to the lives of tens of millions of citizens.
