The Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament approved Zafarqandi’s competence for the Ministry of Health

The Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament has approved the qualification of Zafarqandi for the Ministry of Health.

The Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament announced its approval of Mohammad Reza Zafarqandi as the proposed Minister of Health. The Education, Research, and Technology Commission of the Parliament also announced in a separate review that with a majority vote, he is qualified for this position.

However, some members of the Parliament consider Mr. Zafarqandi to be close to reformists and criticize him for his positions on the presidential elections of 2009 and the nationwide protests of 2022.

Mohammad Reza Zafarqandi, a vascular surgery specialist and full professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, has been proposed as the Minister of Health to the Parliament.

He has served as the head of the Medical Council, managed the surgical department at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and led the Trauma and Surgery Research Center at Sina Hospital. He is also the Secretary-General of the Islamic Society of Iranian Medical Association.
