The health system in Gaza has been completely destroyed, according to a UN expert

A United Nations health system expert says Gaza’s health system has been completely destroyed.

After 200 days since the start of the war in Gaza, a United Nations expert says that the health system in this narrow strip has been completely obliterated.

Special rapporteur on health for the United Nations, Talaalnag Mofucong, told reporters in Geneva that just a few days after the start of the war in Gaza, irreparable damage was inflicted on the health infrastructure in the region.

He further stated that during the Israeli bombardment, health centers in Gaza operated for months under critical conditions and with very limited access to medical supplies, providing services to patients and the wounded.

Ms. Mofucong emphasized that from the beginning, this war had targeted the right to health and stressed that the health system in Gaza has been completely destroyed.
