The Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association announced its existence in support of the protests.

A group of Iranian filmmakers and cinema artists, both inside and outside the country, announced the formation of a new organization named the Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association on Monday, and in their first statement, they outlined their objectives as follows:

1. Striving to prevent the suppression and killing of innocent and distressed people in Iran. 2. Advocating for the unconditional release of all political prisoners and dissenters, including filmmakers, artists, and journalists. 3. Drawing the attention of filmmakers and artists worldwide to the global significance of this progressive movement in resisting all forms of obscurantism. 4. Exposing the propaganda policies of the Islamic regime, such as the infiltration of government operatives and agents into international cultural circles, the screening of films, the presence of government representatives at festivals, and the pressure, threats, and bribery of media outlets.
