The Iranian Minister of Energy has officially put water importation on the agenda.

On Wednesday, December 3rd, Abbas Aliabadi, the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic, announced that the ministry has officially included water imports, both virtual and real, in its plans and is exploring options to find a country willing to export water to Iran.

Without providing details about the target country, surplus capacity, transfer route, or costs, he only stated that the Ministry of Energy has this issue on its agenda.

Aliabadi also explained that cloud seeding requires specific conditions, and the Ministry of Energy uses both traditional and modern methods. He stated that the effectiveness of these methods ranges from 3 to 15 percent.
