The Islamic Republic Leader Not Voting Has No Achievements or Benefits

The leader of the Islamic Republic says not voting has no benefits or advantages.

Less than 48 hours until the start of the elections for the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Assembly of Experts, Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has called for citizen participation in these elections.

Mr. Khamenei said in a speech in Tehran that those who express indifference towards the elections and encourage others to not participate should think more. Not voting has no benefits or advantages and does not solve any problems in the country.

Some media outlets and politicians in Iran say that the elections are being held in a cold atmosphere and citizens have no desire to participate in them.

The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran also said, ‘Some inside the country pay no attention to the elections. I do not accuse anyone, but I remind everyone that we should look at the elections from the perspective of national interests, not from partisan or group perspectives. If the elections are weak, everyone loses. Anyone who loves Iran, its people, and security should know that if the elections are weak, no one benefits and everyone suffers.’

Hassan Rouhani’s office manager, the former president of Iran, has stated that according to polls, the participation rate will be low. The Guardian Council has rejected Mr. Rouhani’s qualification to participate in the Assembly of Experts elections.

Voting in the two elections for the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Assembly of Experts will be on Friday in Iran.

Iran has announced that for voting, no longer stamping on the birth certificates is required, and instead, the national ID number is necessary, which can be used along with other identity documents to cast a vote.
