The killing of Momen Zand Karimi, an 18-year-old youth in Sanandaj

Momen Zand Karimi, an 18-year-old youth from Sanandaj, was killed on November 2nd by direct shooting from officers in Sanandaj. Under pressure from security forces, his body was transferred to his parents’ hometown village of Machke and buried there.

According to witnesses and local sources, this student, who also worked as a driver with his personal car, was not participating in any protests. After hours of driving passengers on the Behesht Mohammadi route, he was shot while parking his car near his residence.

According to Obeid Zand Karimi, Momen Zand Karimi’s father, he was hit by a live bullet in the shoulder on Cyrus Street and passed away hours later in Tohid Hospital in Sanandaj due to severe injuries and heavy bleeding.
