The Workers’ House: A new wave of workforce reductions has begun in Mahshahr and Bandar Imam

The executive secretary of the Bandar Imam Workers’ House announced the start of a new wave of workforce reductions in Mahshahr and Bandar Imam, stating that some companies are dismissing workers without following legal procedures.

Ebrahim Pirayesh criticized this trend, saying that some workers who were present at their workplaces even during the war have now been dismissed despite the prohibition on layoffs by the labor council of the governorate.

According to him, companies such as Petronad and Mahshahr Pipe Manufacturing have not complied with this decree and are carrying out dismissals with the justification that the projects have been completed.

Pirayesh emphasized that the activities of these projects are still ongoing and the claim of completion does not align with reality.

He also reported on mass layoffs in some units, stating that in some cases, between 30 to 40 people, and even over 100 people, have been laid off simultaneously.
