The Prison Organization denied assaults on female prisoners

The Prison Organization in Iran has denied assaults on female prisoners and states that so far no reports of assault in women’s prisons have been recorded.

The Prison Organization explained the falsehood of reports about assaults and sexual harassment by stating that male and female prisoners are segregated, and the supervision of female prisoners is the responsibility of female staff of the Prison Organization.

This organization also states that women’s prisons are inspected periodically by sending specialists and special inspectors from the National Prison Organization.

The Prison Organization denies reports of sexual harassment while some security detention centers are not under its supervision, and in addition, in the past three months, several videos have been released showing the sexual assault of special unit officers on protesting women in broad daylight and in public places.
