Behzad Rahimi, the representative of Saqqez and Baneh in the parliament, in an interview with the Jamaran reporter, reacted to the killing of Mahsa Amini at the morality police station and stated

There was no issue with Mahsa Amini’s attire. If this is the case, then everyone should be confronted. In this very city of Tehran, if we go to two higher areas, the lack of hijab is much more evident. Why don’t they confront people there, but in the city center, they behaved this way with a girl from the provinces who was unaware of these matters and was wearing a long and conventional scarf and coat? Again, I say I don’t know what the motivation for confronting this attire was.
