The head of the Traffic and Driving Police plays a significant role in the plan to liberalize Chinese vehicles.
Kamal Hadianfar, the head of Iran’s Traffic and Driving Police, has announced the prominent role of Chinese vehicles in the plan to liberalize car imports to Iran, citing sanctions as the reason for the limited variety of cars.
He stated that, due to the sanctions, the majority of imported cars in this plan are supplied through Chinese manufacturing companies.
Mr. Hadianfar has also mentioned that this matter specifically pertains to new cars, and the regulation for importing used cars has not yet been finalized by the Council of Ministers, and its ordering system has not been opened.
He also stated that no foreign car has been imported to Iran based on the new plan for liberalizing car imports.
According to what has been said, some imported shipments are still stuck in customs in Iran, and for some shipments, only the order has been registered.
Previously, Mehdi Zighami, the head of Iran’s Trade Development Organization, had stated that the supply of imported cars would be limited to the existing cars in Iran for now.
