The secretary of the Rice Producers Association says that rice brokers sell rice to people at four times the price they bought from farmers.

Masih Keshavarz, the secretary of the Rice Producers and Suppliers Association, states that the traditional production and supply of rice by rice mills and brokers is the main reason for the unreasonable surge in rice prices.

Brokers bought Iranian rice from farmers for 75,000 tomans and sell it to people for 300,000 tomans.

Brokers officially manipulate rice prices, and the government cannot oversee their activities at all.
