The song ‘Dayeh Dayeh Vaghte Jangeh’ was registered by UNESCO

A member of the expert committee of the National Council for the Registration of Intangible Cultural Heritage announced the registration of the song ‘Dayeh Dayeh Vaghte Jangeh’ and also the instrument ‘Chogur’ in the national list of intangible heritage.

Behrooz Vojdani, referring to the outcome of the expert session of the National Council for the Registration of Intangible Cultural Heritage held on Tuesday, February 11, at the General Directorate of Registration and Protection of Intangible and Natural Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, stated that out of approximately 30 cases submitted by five provinces for registration, two cases related to music were registered in the national list of intangible heritage: the song ‘Dayeh Dayeh Vaghte Jangeh’ from Lorestan province and the method of making and playing the ‘Chogur’ instrument from Markazi province.
