The USA and Ukraine sign a security agreement

The USA and Ukraine intend to sign a bilateral security agreement on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy on Thursday, June 13th (24th of Khordad). Jake Sullivan, the White House National Security Advisor, announced this while en route to Italy.

According to American sources, this agreement includes the delivery of weapons and support for Ukraine, but it does not consider the deployment of US military forces to Ukraine.

So far, 15 countries have signed security agreements with Ukraine.

Jake Sullivan regarded the signing of this agreement as a bridge to Ukraine’s potential membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and said this bridge is formed by our assistance to Ukraine in securing its independence and territorial integrity.

Sullivan further explained about this security agreement, adding that our support will continue for a long time, especially in the defense and security fields. If Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, thinks he can neutralize NATO’s support for Ukraine, he is mistaken.
