The U.S. Department of the Treasury sanctioned two individuals and five companies based in the UAE, Turkey, Hong Kong, and Iran for assisting in the purchase of sensitive components needed to build drones.

According to the Treasury Department report released on Thursday, September 27, Fan Yang, the director of the Hong Kong-based Himark Electric Model company, along with the mentioned company, and Hamidreza Janghorbani, CEO of Pishgam Electronic Safa in Isfahan, along with this company, were placed on the U.S. blacklist.

Two companies from Turkey and one company based in Dubai have also been added to the new U.S. sanctions list.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against the two individuals and five companies mentioned, labeling them as a network for procuring and sending drone parts to Iran, and once again accused Tehran of sending drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.

In its statement, the Treasury Department adds that this network has facilitated shipments and financial transactions to support the purchase of a key component used in Shahed-136 drones.
