The U.S. Department of State considers the current situation in Iran a direct result of structural shortcomings in the country.
The official page of the U.S. Department of State on the social media platform X addressed Iran’s agricultural crisis on Tuesday, September 4th, stating that the people and farmers of this country need leadership that prioritizes their welfare and sustainable solutions.
The department further noted that Iran’s agricultural sector has been driven to the brink of collapse due to decades of neglect, incompetence, water shortages, and frequent power outages.
These conditions have led to widespread food spoilage and the destruction of the livelihoods of thousands of farmers.
The U.S. views this situation as a direct consequence of the structural deficiencies and mismanagement of the Islamic Republic.
