Toumaj Salehi was acquitted

Toumaj Salehi’s lawyer has announced that this protest singer has been acquitted of charges of spreading falsehoods and inciting violent acts.

Amir Raeesian, Toumaj Salehi’s lawyer, wrote on Sunday, March 17, on the social network X, formerly Twitter, that Toumaj Salehi was acquitted by Branch 117 of the Criminal Court 2 of Isfahan of charges of spreading falsehoods and inciting violent acts related to a video released in December 2023.

The hearing for Toumaj Salehi’s 2023 case was held via video conference on Saturday, March 16.

Toumaj Salehi, the imprisoned rapper, was released on bail on November 18 this year after spending 252 days in solitary confinement and a total of one year and 21 days in prison, but only 12 days later, after releasing a video in which he described being tortured in prison, he was violently re-arrested.
