Trump announces Vance and the American delegation’s departure to Islamabad
They claim they have no intention of participating in negotiations. Donald Trump says that his country’s high-ranking delegation will arrive in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, in a few hours. The New York Post reported today, quoting Donald Trump, that the high-ranking American delegation, led by J.D. Vance and including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, has departed for Islamabad for a second round of negotiations with Tehran. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have called the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf a violation of the ceasefire and have stated that they currently have no plans to participate in the second round of peace talks with the U.S. Yesterday, Trump once again threatened that if this round of negotiations does not yield his desired outcome, power plants and infrastructure in Iran will once again be targeted.
