Trump’s Cabinet Meeting at Camp David to Focus on Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump is set to hold a special meeting with his cabinet members on Wednesday at the presidential retreat, Camp David. According to American media reports, the main focus of this meeting will be Iran and the ongoing negotiations.
Agence France-Presse wrote that holding this meeting at Camp David, the secluded and confidential retreat for U.S. presidents in Maryland, indicates the sensitivity of the current stage of negotiations.
The New York Post also reported that all cabinet members will be present at the meeting, and in addition to Iran, economic issues will also be on the agenda.
Trump had previously stated that reaching an agreement with Tehran to end the war in the Middle East is near, but he warned that if the negotiations fail, U.S. attacks on Iran might resume.
Camp David has previously hosted significant negotiations, including the Egypt-Israel peace agreement in 1978 and the Israeli-Palestinian summit in 2000.
This marks Trump’s second visit to Camp David during his second term in office.
