Trump campaign accuses Iran
The basis of the accusation by the Trump campaign is that Iranian hackers breached the internal system of the campaign, hacking documents related to the backgrounds of two of Trump’s deputy options in June. An email containing these documents was sent to the media.
Politico is one of the media outlets that received these documents, and the hacker in question has refused to disclose their source in response to requests for information from journalists.
So far, US cybersecurity authorities and the FBI have not confirmed this accusation. The Trump campaign has only cited a recent statement by Microsoft on Friday, pointing to the activities of Iranian hackers on social networks and not providing any details about hacking campaign systems.
