Trump issued the order for the US to withdraw from UNESCO
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has decided that the United States will withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
This decision has been made due to what has been described as anti-American and anti-Israeli bias within this institution.
According to the New York Post, Trump began a 90-day review in February regarding the US membership in UNESCO, with a special focus on examining any presence of anti-Semitism or anti-Israeli stances within this organization.
Anna Kelly, the White House spokesperson, announced to the media that President Trump has decided to withdraw from UNESCO, an institution that supports divisive left-wing values that are incompatible with the rational policies the American people voted for in the November elections.
Trump administration officials have also raised concerns about UNESCO’s programs, describing the institution as having pro-Palestinian and pro-China tendencies.
The White House has cited the adoption of resolutions against Israel, the registration of Jewish holy sites as Palestinian world heritage sites, and references to Israeli occupation as examples of this institution’s anti-Israeli approach.
