Trump Revokes Kamala Harris’s Security Protection

One of Kamala Harris’s advisors says that President Donald Trump has suspended the activities of Ms. Harris’s security team.

Ms. Harris, as the former Vice President, was entitled by law to benefit from these services for six months after leaving her position in January, and initially, the mission of this team was set to expire in July.

However, her protection was extended for another year with an executive order signed by Joe Biden. Nevertheless, Donald Trump revoked this order starting from September 1st, according to a memo received by the BBC on Thursday.

This action comes just a few weeks before the nationwide promotion of the book ‘107 Days’ written by Kamala Harris.

Ms. Harris’s book is a memoir of her short-lived and ultimately unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2024.

A senior White House official confirmed Mr. Trump’s action.

In 2008, the U.S. Congress passed a law allowing the Secret Service to protect former Vice Presidents, their spouses, and their children under the age of 16 after they leave office.
