Trump: If necessary, I will place Washington under federal control
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in a controversial move against illegal immigration, has threatened to declare a state of emergency in Washington and place the city under central government administration.
The reason for this threat is that Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, has stated that the city’s police will not cooperate with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
This cooperation involves sharing information about individuals who are living illegally in the United States or entering the country.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, ‘I will declare a national emergency and, if necessary, place the city under federal administration.’
