Turkey opens its border crossing with Syria for assistance

A Turkish official said that the country is in negotiations to reopen a border crossing in Syrian territory to send aid directly to areas under the control of Bashar al-Assad, following a decade of hostility.

Al Jazeera reported that a Turkish relief convoy has been sent from Ankara to the areas of Idlib and Aleppo in northwestern Syria to assist earthquake victims.
