Declaration of Economic War by UAE with the Arrest of Two Money Changers

The UAE was one of the most important channels for currency entering Iran. The UAE government, despite having information and oversight, never imposed strict measures and showed leniency and good cooperation towards trusts and money changers who facilitated currency transfers for the Islamic Republic. However, the onset of war and the attacks by the US-Israel coalition, the Islamic Republic’s response, and the launching of missiles towards neighboring countries, including the UAE, changed the dynamics. Previously, Saeed Aganji, an investigative journalist and editor of the Iran Gate News Agency, had published extensive reports on Tahiri. Aganji has now reported the arrest of two major and important money changers in the UAE. In a tweet, he announced that two trusts of the Islamic Republic, Ehsan Tahiri and Zarrin Qalam, have been arrested in the UAE. Aganji had started the discussion on exposing the trusts and had mentioned many individuals who did not return billions of dollars from the sale of oil and derivatives, hoping for war. It seems they were trying to remain in a safe zone. According to him, only a portion of the money is in the UAE, with the main part in Turkey, China, and Europe. Aganji stated that another key figure in the corruption chain, who supported the trusts and provided them with billions of dollars in unsecured guarantees, is Gholamreza Tajgardoon, the head of the Parliament’s Budget and Planning Commission. Aganji has announced that he will expose the main circle of this mafia and their money laundering routes, similar to other trusts and the Islamic Republic’s mafia.
