UAE’s Strictness on Iranians and Iran’s Consulate Inactivity
Following the increase in political and military tensions in the region in recent months, the security atmosphere in some Gulf countries has become more sensitive towards foreign nationals, especially Iranian citizens. Amidst this, scattered reports and accounts suggest an increase in security interrogations at some airports and immigration centers in Dubai. According to information received by Iran Gate News Agency, some Iranians and Iranian economic activists in Dubai have also been interrogated by security agencies. These accounts indicate that some individuals have claimed to face longer-than-usual interrogations during the entry or residency process, a matter that analysts say could be evaluated within the framework of increased security measures following recent regional developments. However, no official UAE authority has yet reacted to this issue.
The lack of information dissemination or sufficient consular support in potential cases has increased concerns. However, legal experts emphasize that in such situations, official follow-up through diplomatic channels and precise documentation are the only valid paths to resolve the issue.
If this ambiguous atmosphere persists and there is a lack of informational transparency, observers believe there is a likelihood of an increase in accounts from Iranians residing in the UAE. In the event of the Iranian consulate’s inactivity in Dubai, Iran Gate will announce the names of Iranians who have faced such problems.
