The President of Ukraine has stated that 31,000 of our soldiers have been killed in the war with Russia.

Al Jazeera wrote that Volodymyr Zelensky, referring to the 31,000 soldiers killed in the war with Russia, said that each person who dies is a defeat for Ukraine. He added that tens of thousands of civilians have been killed in the occupied areas of Ukraine, but said that an accurate count will not be available until the end of the war.

Russia has also provided official statistics on casualties. The independent Russian media outlet Meduza reported on Saturday that approximately 75,000 Russian men lost their lives in the war during 2022 and 2023. A U.S. intelligence report declassified in mid-December 2023 estimated that 315,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in Ukraine. According to this report, if this figure is accurate, 87% of about 360,000 Russian soldiers have been killed.

Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine warned that Russia intends to launch new attacks from May as part of its spring operations.
