The Umrah pilgrimage was canceled

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced the official cancellation of the 2023 Umrah pilgrimage and stated that the refund of the registrants’ fees will begin on Saturday.

According to Iran’s official media, Gholamreza Rezaei, the Deputy for Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, said that due to the prolonged issuance of entry permits for Iran Air planes to Saudi Arabia, the organization decided to refund the fees to all registrants’ accounts.

Rezaei stated that as soon as the Saudi side issues the entry permits for Iranian planes, the registration process for Umrah pilgrims and the assignment of their caravans will resume.

According to the Deputy for Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, 30,000 people had registered for the 2023 Umrah, and their refunds will start on Saturday, February 17th, and this process is expected to be completed within three to four working days.
